On successful completion of the course and on
passing the practical and written assessments, learners will receive an FAA level 3 award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health (RQF). In Scotland successful completion results in the award of level 6 in Leading First Aid for Mental Health
(SCQF).
This 2-day course goes into detail on a wide range of mental health conditions and the support and help provided by healthcare professionals. It covers the content of both the level 1 & 2 qualifications (please see below) but is aimed at trainers and supervisors within the workplace.
The First Aid for Mental Health course empowers both individuals and organisations to recognise and understand the signs
and symptoms
of mental health issues. Theoretical and practical elements of the course provide the skills, knowledge and practise of first aid for mental health and how to effectively support
those experiencing distress.
This allows both individuals and organisations to understand the signs and symptoms of mental health issues and how best to support themselves and those around them, and how to effectively signpost
to those in need.
Wellbeing tools and concepts are included and discussed so delegates benefit at an individual level as well as at an organisational level.
