The First Aid for Mental Health course empowers both individuals and organisations to recognise and understand the signs and symptoms of mental health issues. Theoretical and practical elements of the course provide the skills, knowledge and practise of first aid for mental health and how to effectively support those experiencing distress.

This allows both individuals and organisations to understand the signs and symptoms of mental health issues and how best to support themselves and those around them, and how to effectively signpost to those in need.

Wellbeing tools and concepts are included and discussed so delegates benefit at an individual level as well as at an organisational level.

The course blends with, supports and enhances your current or emerging workplace wellbeing strategy.

Complements the "mental health core standards" of the Stevenson-Farmer review - more information about this and HSE and NICE guidelines can be found here.....

                                                        Distance Learning

(on request)

     Distance learning offers great flexibility
  • Study your course via distance learning
  • A combination of self-study and webinars
  • Guided by a qualified Trainer/Assessor
  • Distance learning resources included
  • Assessed via a professional discussion
  • Ofqual or SQA accredited qualification
Distance learning (DL) offers a blended approach to your course delivery. Self-study using the excellent course manual, distance learning resources and guided learning hours (usually a webinar via Zoom) are combined to offer you a flexible way to take your course.

Both the 2 & 1 day courses are available as distance learning options and the content is identical to the face to face versions. (see above for course content).

The Supervising First Aid for Mental Health DL course has a minimum of 6 assigned guided learning hours (GLH) and 14 hours total qualification time (TQT). GLH indicates the number of contact hours the learner will have with the Trainer/Assessor.

TQT includes GLH but the self-study is an estimate of how long the average learner will take to acheive the qualification.

Assessment will be via a "professional discussion" (one to one) and demonstration of the application of the First Aid for Mental Health action plan.

On successful completion of the course and assessment the learner will be awarded the relevant qualification (see above for courses and their qualification levels).
